La Pietà

The original statue is made of Carrara white marble and is 174 cm in height. It was carved in Rome between 1497 and 1499, commissioned by the cardinal Jean Bilhères de Lagraulas, ambassador of King Charles VIII to the Pope Alexander VI. It is located in St. Peter’s Cathedral in Rome.
