David
(Michelangelo Buonarroti Caprese,
Arezzo 1475 - Roma 1564)
The marble and alabaster copy has a base of alabaster and incredibly resembles the original - made of Carrara white marble and 420 cm high. It was the first commission for the young Michelangelo, destined to be placed in front of Palazzo della Signoria and to become the
symbol of the strength of the Florentine Republic.
